Ken Graves is the founding pastor of Calvary Chapel Bangor. He grew up in Bangor, Maine, but left at the age of 16 to pursue training in the ministry. At the age of 22, he responded to a call from God to present the Gospel and build a church in his hometown. The church began in 1991 in his Bangor apartment with a core of about twelve people.

In 1996, God allowed them to be a part of starting a full power radio station, WJCX 99.5 FM. This became a very powerful tool for preaching the Gospel of Christ and in making disciples and really equipping people with Biblical knowledge, as well as being a blessing to the many other Bible believing churches in central Maine. They continue to grow in size as well as expand in their ministry. Ken Graves’s show "GODSWORD" has an extremely simple format. He just reads the Bible, explains it in simple terms and people respond.
